Berlin, books and more…

It was not love at the first sight. In fact, at the beginning, there was a great dislike. Berlin was dirty and grey to a teenager looking for an adventure and sunny, blue skies every day. Yet, it was just across the border, making it an attractive destination for school and weekend trips.

But with age came the wisdom and a keener sense of observation. After living in and visiting many places, Berlin grew more attractive precisely because it was never pretending to be anything else. Berlin was always itself – raw, beautiful, complex, problematic. A vibrant city where everyone could be themselves and feel accepted. That is when the love began to grow.

This blog, and its author, strive to embody the same spirit—simply being themselves.
